Rules of Academy Awards
At the beginning of 20th century, other categories were added for Oscar Awards such as supporting actor/actress, production design, original score, editing, sound mixing, visual effects, makeup & hairstyling, costume design and documentary feature. The categories fall under some divisions such as technical, scientific, honorary and special achievement award.
According to the jury rules, the Academy Awards can be nominated and voted by the members of Film Academy. Many Oscar-nominated legends like Robert Loggia, James Caan, Kate Winslet, Elizabeth Taylor, Tom Hardy and many other renowned actors and actresses received Academy Awards for their brilliant performance. They have received appraisals from the audience and film production team.
Many haters and critics have snubbed with grey & sarcastic comments on different movies. In September 2015, a critic said, “How Did an Oscar-Nominated Legend End up in This Painfully Amateurish Horror Film?” This criticism was made for James Caan against ‘Sicilian Vampire’ directed by Frank D’Angelo. However, the film received success and A.O.F Awards in 2015 and gave a counter-back answer to the critics. After such sarcastic criticism, James Caan acted on another movie of D’Angelo, ‘The Red Maple’ and received ‘Action on Film Award’ for Best Supporting Actor.
Final Note
Aside from bestowing international recognition to the film industry, the Academy Awards play a crucial role in the success of the winners and encourage the movies to earn reputation in the box office.
