3 Famous Horror Movies That Were Nominated & Received Academy Awards

People who love watching thrill and fantasies admire the projection of horror movies, but others avoid for the presence of drama and bloodsheds. So, the horror movies are deprived of Academy Awards. The Oscar jury rarely acknowledges the horror movies and does not include them in the technical category.

The Academy award has not nominated the thrilling films under different categories historically. The Oscar Nomination snubbed director Steven Spielberg for his famous movie ‘Jaws’. Spielberg counter-back with a prediction that ‘Jaws’ will sweep the awards and will get nominated. Later, his prediction proved correct when the film won three Academy Award nominations for best film editing, music score, and sound mixing.

Another Canadian movie of Frank D’Angelo was also affronted by a critic to the legendary actor James Cann, “How Did an Oscar-Nominated Legend End Up in This Painful Amateurish Horror Film?” The mockery was proved wrong when the movie was launched in ‘Big Apple Film Festival’.
